Job summary

NewGen Technologies is seeking a VDI Consultant to design, deploy, optimize, and support VMware Horizon, Citrix, and Microsoft VDI environments within a customer IT setup. You will tackle access issues, performance bottlenecks, patching, and health checks while coordinating with onsite teams and partners.

The role requires 5+ years in VDI design/deployment, scripting in PowerShell/Python, and strong AD/SCCM/Intune/M365 skills. Top Secret clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in VDI design, deployment, and support.
• Expertise in VMware Horizon View, vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi), vCenter, Citrix, Microsoft AVD, and Dell infrastructure.
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) for automation and monitoring.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, SCCM/Intune, and M365 administration.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain VDI environments (VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops).
• Troubleshoot user access issues, performance bottlenecks, and application delivery problems.
• Perform health checks, patching, and capacity planning.
• Support endpoint devices including thin clients, zero clients, and mobile access.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and system changes.
• Assist in designing and implementing VDI architectures using Partner infrastructure.
• Configure and deploy virtual desktops and application pools.
• Integrate App Volumes, User Environment Manager (UEM), and profile management tools.
• Analyze performance metrics and recommend improvements.
• Implement automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) for provisioning and monitoring.
• Support GPU-accelerated VDI for multimedia-rich applications.
• Ensure VDI environments meet security standards and compliance requirements.
• Configure policies for access control, USB redirection, and endpoint security.
• Work closely with customer IT teams and Partner support.
• Provide training and documentation to customer staff.
• Participate in change management and project planning meetings.
