Job summary

MANTECH in Key West, FL seeks a motivated Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator to join our on-site team. The role requires 5+ years of VDI experience and strong VMware Horizon/Citrix knowledge, with deep Windows Server, AD, and networking fundamentals.

The position emphasizes collaboration with cybersecurity and IT teams to patch, image, and secure VDI environments while interfacing with customers to translate requirements into robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (or higher) with substitutions allowed for experience.
• 5+ years direct experience supporting VDI environments.
• 10+ years IT experience in system administration or related roles.
• Experience with VMware Horizon, Citrix, or major VDI solutions; strong Windows Server, AD, Group Policy, and networking knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage functionality and efficiency of computers running one or more operating systems.
• Deploy VDI thin clients and maintain master images and pools.
• Coordinate with SCCM/MECM to ensure patching and security compliance; troubleshoot with Service Desk.
• Implement patches and config changes with cybersecurity and IT teams.
• Interface with customers to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Troubleshoot VDI-related issues including access, performance, and compatibility.
• Monitor system performance and identify bottlenecks; recommend improvements.
