Job summary

MainSpring is seeking an experienced Senior Business Technology Consultant / vCIO to align IT with business goals for diverse clients in the DC-MD-VA region. Travel to client sites is expected for executive discussions and strategic planning, with oversight of multiple accounts and proactive technology guidance.

The role emphasizes risk management, process improvement, and ongoing client satisfaction, measured by retention and proven technology outcomes.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years IT-related experience with leadership skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
• Strong business acumen and understanding of IT concepts and trends.
• Experience consulting for small and medium-sized organizations.
• Ability to manage client issues and initiatives across teams.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication; public speaking ability.

Responsibilities

• Understand clients’ goals and establish a long-term IT strategy and plan.
• Travel to client sites in the DC-MD-VA metro area to meet executives and discuss improvements.
• Manage client accounts from onboarding through ongoing reviews.
• Foster relationships to advance clients’ missions.
• Identify workflow challenges and propose efficiency improvements.
• Create technology roadmap and operating budget aligned to business needs.
• Coordinate internal audits and present results to MainSpring management.
• Lead communications during emergencies and client issues.
• Retain clients by delivering high satisfaction.
