Job summary

MainSpring is seeking a Technical Services Consultant to consult, implement and manage a wide variety of IT solutions across client sites in the DC-VA-MD metro area. This role emphasizes independence, strong communication, and project management as you support small businesses, non-profits, and government agencies.

Qualifications include a BS in CS/IT or related field, 10+ years in IT with 5 in a lead role, and extensive experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Office 365, AWS and Azure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years IT support or similar role (5 as a lead).
• Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and software applications.
• Excellent problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant certifications are a plus.
• Proficiency in VMware and Hyper-V environments.
• Proficiency with Office 365, Entra, Intune and Active Directory Administration.
• Strong PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Proficient with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Experience with network security and firewall configurations (Unifi and PFSense troubleshooting a plus).
• Experience with Teams Room Configuration.
• Familiarity with ConnectWise PSA, ScreenConnect, and ITGlue are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites in the DC-VA-MD metro area to provide technical project consulting and comprehensive IT support for a variety of clients (small businesses, non-profits, government agencies).
• Diagnose and resolve complex IT issues across various platforms and systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members and end-users.
• Implement and troubleshoot IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify and address IT needs and improvements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the organization remains competitive.

Salary Range:$100,000-$125,000 annually

The Technical Services Consultant / IT Consultant for the Integration team requires a well-rounded individual to consult, implement and manage a wide variety of solutions. It is largely based on working independently at client sites; therefore, excellent interpersonal communication and time/project management skills are critical for customer satisfaction, as well as individual and the organization’s success.
