Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries’ Mission Technologies division is seeking a Flight Simulation Trainer 5 (VATS SME) to support the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center at Nellis AFB, NV. The role involves operating the VATS simulator, coordinating with Weapons Officer IPs, and delivering realistic air training for USAF units.

Candidates should be senior with 15+ years experience (or 13+ with a Masters, or 19+ with HS) and hold an active Top Secret clearance; TS/SCI eligibility is also

Qualifications

• 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13+ with Masters; or HS diploma with 19+ years experience.
• Current or previous military fighter pilot.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must have had an active Top Secret clearance within the last 24 months.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Operate VATS fighter simulator cockpit controls and related displays, training tools, and formations.
• Act as Mission Director or Red Czar depending on scenario when required.
• Operate the simulator console and debriefing system during and after missions.
• Provide SME regarding threat air tactics and procedures during planning and execution.
• Support development and integration of events to maximize training.
• Orchestrate scenarios and inputs for training events.
• Create and modify mission-planning materials to ensure effective training.
• Provide instructor-level expertise to shape tactical training for participants.
• Report issues related to stimulation software and provide basic troubleshooting.
• Lead small teams to achieve customer requirements.
