Job summary

UCI Health in Orange, CA seeks an experienced Vascular Technologist to perform non-invasive vascular exams and Doppler studies, including M-mode, 2D, color, and CW Doppler, for adults and children. You will prepare patients, optimize imaging, and may rotate to other areas; training staff and documenting statistics are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Signed off on Vascular and TCD by a UC designated official; if external, within 90 days of hire.
• Registered Vascular Technologist Certification (RVT)
• ARDMS certification
• Inpatient and outpatient exams, and all other ultrasound exams as needed.
• Customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Pediatric ultrasound experience including neonatal heads
• Excellent written and verbal English
• Current BLS certification
• Competent with NICU, Vascular surgery, Elastography, Penile doppler, Breast imaging, Foam Therapy, Venous reflex exams, dialysis access, arterial upper and lower extremity, carotid Doppler studies, and TIPPS
• Ability to maintain a workload pace
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• 5 years experience as a vascular technologist in a hospital or dedicated lab and two years experience in diagnostic ultrasound

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of non-invasive vascular exams and Doppler studies.
• Prepare and position patients; adjust equipment to best demonstrate area of interest.
• May rotate to other areas of the medical center.
• Assist in training technologists, fellows and students as assigned.
• Maintain equipment and log all reported repairs.
• Provide written impressions for the radiologist and vascular surgeons.
• Display professional conduct in interactions with staff, patients and visitors.
