Reporting to the Ultrasound Supervisor, incumbent will perform the full range of non-invasive vascular exams, vascular ultrasound, and may perform general ultrasound when needed. This includes M-mode, 2-dimensional, color Doppler, pulsed Doppler, and continuous-wave Doppler. Recognizes and describes abnormal findings, follows protocols and tailors the procedure to provide a comprehensive exam. Will perform exams on adults and pediatric patients. Will prepare and position patients, adjust equipment to best demonstrate area of interest, operate various stationary and portable equipment and imaging systems. May rotate to other areas of the medical center. Hours will include holiday rotation. The vascular technologist will assist in the training of technologists, fellows and students as assigned. Will be responsible for statistics and record keeping. Will maintain equipment and log all reported repairs. Must be able to work independently and provide written impressions for the radiologist and vascular surgeons. The technologist is expected to display professional conduct at all times in their interactions with other staff members, patients and visitors.
