Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a Senior Vascular Lab Technologist- Medical Sonographer for a full-time, day shift. The echocardiography and vascular lab performs close to 9,500 procedures annually; expects about 7 exams per day with a 4th weekend call rotation.

The role requires a degree in Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or Vascular Technology and ARRT/ARDMS or RVT/RVS credentials with BLS.

Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a Senior Vascular Lab Technologist- Medical Sonographer for a Full Time, Day shift position in Harrisonburg, VA.

Hours

Schedule can be either four 9-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts with start time of 8am.

Required Call

every 4th weekend from 8am to noon on Saturday and Sunday.

Must live within 30 minutes of the facility for call purposes.

The Senior Vascular Lab Technologist- Medical Sonographer a ssists leadership with daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, achievement of operating center goals and objectives, customer satisfaction and in meeting regulatory requirements through providing technical expertise within assigned area. Serves as a technical resource for other team members through participation in quality control and improvement/evaluation activities, staff development activities, and daily support to team members. Assists leadership with facilitating and monitoring the work processes of the department. Performs diagnostic, vascular, and/or interventional ultrasound procedures at a technical level requiring independent judgment, under the direction of a qualified physician. Performs non-invasive vascular testing procedures and may write preliminary interpretations depending on the facility. Degree in Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography and, or Vascular Technology required. Related field or completion of a training program acceptable to their registry board, American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, ARRT, or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Registered Vascular Technologist or Registered Vascular Specialist.

The Sentara RMH Medical Center echocardiography and vascular lab is considered high volume with close to 9,500 procedures performed annually. The lab works closely with our invasive cardiology (structural heart, electrophysiology, diagnostic/interventional cath) and cardiothoracic surgery services. Each Team member is expected to perform about 7 exams per day. Preliminary reports are generated in ProSolv (Structured Report SW Application). Clinical equipment include state of the art Philips Epic ultrasound systems and EPIC (electronic medical record). Both inpatient and outpatient echo services are located on the Sentara RMH Medical Center main campus within the non-invasive cardiology lab.

Education

Degree in Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography and, or Vascular Technology required

Certification/Licensure

American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, (ARRT) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) required

BLS required

Experience
