Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a Medical Sonographer and Vascular Technologist III for a full-time, rotating role (Sunday–Thursday, 3:00 pm–10:30 pm). The position requires independent judgment under physician direction to perform general and vascular ultrasound exams and non-invasive vascular testing with preliminary interpretations.

Candidates should have a degree in Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography and ARRT/ARDMS registration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or equivalent registry-ready training.
• Registered ARRT or ARDMS required.
• Ability to perform general and vascular ultrasound with independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic general and vascular ultrasound procedures under physician supervision.
• Explain examination procedures to patients and document results.
• Conduct non-invasive vascular testing and provide preliminary interpretations.

Demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology, operation of sonography equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment/medications, and maintains adequate supply inventory.Explains examination and procedure to patient and completes departmental documentation.
