Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a senior Manufacturing/Design Engineer to ensure flight hardware meets design intent and drive manufacturability improvements. You will collaborate with suppliers, troubleshoot on the floor, and influence design changes for reliability and cost.

Responsibilities include GD&T reviews, 3D CAD analyses, and applying FEA to critical components under cryogenic/high-pressure conditions. The role requires strong teamwork and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years in manufacturing/design engineering for complex mechanical or fluid systems.
  • Strong understanding of fluid components (valves, regulators, fittings) and basics of thermodynamics/fluids.
  • Experience interpreting GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on floor support to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Disposition non-conforming hardware with clear assessments based on drawings and specs.
  • Lead design-for-manufacturability reviews and drive process improvements.
  • Develop and implement design improvements; update assembly/test procedures from root-cause feedback.
  • Use 3D CAD and FEA to analyze designs and document changes per standards.
