Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Seattle, WA is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to own valve and fluid-system components through their full lifecycle—from requirements definition to flight hardware deployment. You will perform first-order analyses, CAD modeling, and sizing, ensuring reliability under pressure, vibration, and thermal loads.

The role requires strong CREO skills, GD&T expertise, and experience with ANSYS or Thermal Desktop.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in valve and/or mechanical+fluids component design.
• Knowledge of propulsion and fluid system components (valves, regulators, pumps).
• Experience designing parts in CREO and applying GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Own components through full lifecycle from requirements to flight hardware.
• Perform first-order analyses, model valves and related hardware in CAD.
• Size components, select materials, and analyze flow, vibration, and pressure loads.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to procure, fabricate, and install flight hardware.
