Job summary

Dean Dorton is seeking a seasoned Business Valuation Senior Consultant to lead workstreams within valuation engagements and support Managers and Directors with delivery. You will develop and review valuation models, prepare reports, and coordinate deliverables, while coaching Associates.

You will oversee complex analyses, interact with clients, and ensure quality and compliance with professional standards such as AICPA, ASA, and NACVA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• CPA, CVA, ASA, or ABV designation (or active pursuit) preferred.
• Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of experience in business valuation or financial consulting, including supervisory experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with advanced Excel and financial modeling proficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting valuation reports.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead defined workstreams and significant portions of valuation engagements.
• Perform complex valuation analyses for operating businesses, ownership interests, and intangible assets.
• Develop and refine valuation models, documenting key assumptions and conclusions.
• Review workpapers and supporting analyses for accuracy and consistency.
• Coordinate document requests and client communications; escalate risks as needed.
• Mentor Associates and interns through coaching and guidance.
• Contribute to proposals, engagement planning, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Maintain technical proficiency with AICPA, ASA, NACVA guidance and tools.
