Job summary

Dean Dorton is seeking a Business Valuation Senior Consultant to lead defined workstreams within valuation engagements and mentor Associates. You will develop and review valuation models, prepare reports, and coordinate deliverables for Managers and Directors, ensuring technical accuracy and client satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have a CPA/CVA/ASA/ABV or active pursuit, 4–6 years in business valuation, and strong Excel/financial modeling plus excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required.
• CPA/CVA/ASA/ABV designation (or active pursuit) strongly preferred.
• Minimum of four to six years of experience in business valuation or financial consulting, including supervisory experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced Excel and financial modeling proficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting valuation reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead defined workstreams and significant portions of business valuation engagements under direction of Managers and Directors.
• Perform complex valuation analyses for operating businesses, ownership interests, and intangible assets.
• Develop and refine valuation models using income, market, and asset-based approaches.
• Review workpapers and supporting analyses for accuracy and consistency.
• Coordinate document requests and analyze financial statements, tax returns, and contracts.
• Mentor Associates and interns through coaching and knowledge sharing.
