Job summary

Dean Dorton in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Business Valuation Senior Consultant to lead defined workstreams of valuation engagements, develop and review valuation models, and coordinate deliverables with Managers and Directors.

You will communicate with clients, manage multiple projects, mentor Associates, and ensure quality and compliance with AICPA, ASA, and NACVA standards. CPA or related designation preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• CPA/CVA/ASA/ABV designation strongly preferred.
• Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of experience in business valuation or financial consulting, including supervisory experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with advanced Excel and financial modeling proficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting valuation reports.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead defined workstreams and significant portions of valuation engagements under direction of Managers and Directors.
• Perform complex valuation analyses for operating businesses, ownership interests, and intangible assets for various purposes.
• Develop and refine valuation models using income, market, and asset‑based approaches.
• Review workpapers, valuation models, and supporting analyses for accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare valuation reports, schedules, exhibits, and presentations for engagement leadership.
• Coordinate document requests and analyze financial statements, forecasts, contracts, and data.
• Identify potential risks and escalate to Managers/Directors.
• Mentor Associates and interns through coaching and knowledge sharing.
