Job summary

Vanguard seeks an experienced UX Researcher to provide usability services for web and mobile interfaces, guiding business and IT teams through user-centric design.

You will plan and conduct studies, interviews, and contextual inquiries, analyze findings, and present results to design teams and decision makers while mentoring junior staff and upholding privacy best practices.

Qualifications

• Five years of related work experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a creative or technical field.
• Familiarity with user testing or Qualtrics/Medallia preferred.
• Must be able to work without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide usability services for business and IT teams for web or mobile applications across multiple platforms.
• Recommend quantitative or qualitative research approaches to gather insights from clients or prospects.
• Plan, design, and conduct user research, usability studies, and heuristic evaluations.
• Review human factors research to add value to Vanguard’s business, technology, and processes.
• Conduct user interviews and contextual inquiries while ensuring privacy.
• Analyze, summarize, and present research results to design teams and decision makers.
• Suggest strategies to gain business buy-in.
• Provide actionable usability recommendations based on target user knowledge and best practices.
• Educate project teams and crew about usability’s purpose and value.
• Identify usability opportunities and present findings and recommendations.
• Negotiate adoption of critical usability recommendations with guidance from senior UX staff.
• Help build usability principles and practices at Vanguard.
• Train and mentor junior staff in user experience research best practices.
• Participate in special projects and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Minimum five years related work experience
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience in a creative or technical field
• Familiarity with user testing or Qualtrics/Medallia is preferred
• Must be able to work without visa sponsorship; Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position
