Job summary

Exelon is seeking a seasoned estimator to prepare bottoms-up cost estimates for Substation, Transmission, Distribution and Gas projects. You will perform field walk downs, refine estimates with project teams, and develop cost analysis and cash flow to support baselines and planning.

The role requires collaboration across engineering, project management and procurement. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, as is experience with utility operations and detailed engineering/

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Financial or Technical Field.
• 4-7 years relevant experience, or in lieu of Bachelor's degree, 6-9 years relevant experience.
• Ability to build a high level or detailed estimate from a Project Diagram, detailed design, or verbal Scope of Work.
• Ability to interface with all levels of management.
• Ability to facilitate project meetings with all stakeholders to develop a project estimate.
• Strong understanding of electric, gas, transmission, distribution and substation practices.
• Produce detailed total project estimates with +/-10% accuracy for a phase 3 estimate.
• Create project estimates up to a cost of 300 million.

Responsibilities

• Develop Phase 1–3 cost estimates in WBS format with all required assumptions and documentation.
• Conduct modeling, forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI tracking.
• Develop unit cost and parametric estimates for standard scope of work.
• Update estimates for each phase with current documentation and meeting information.
• Facilitate estimate challenge meetings with stakeholders to ensure feedback.
• Prepare for and facilitate contractor estimate or bid challenge meetings.
