Job summary

Exelon is seeking an experienced cost estimator to develop detailed Phase 1–3 project cost estimates for Substation, Transmission, Distribution and Gas projects. You will walk down sites, refine estimates with the project team, and maintain cost databases for accuracy and faster decision making.

You will model and analyze variances, support long-range planning, and help drive continuous improvement in estimating methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Financial or Technical Field required.
• 4-7 years relevant estimating experience; or 6-9 years if no bachelor's degree.
• Ability to build high- and detailed-level estimates from designs and scope.
• Strong interfacing with management and stakeholders.
• Proficient with standard software and estimating tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop Phase 1–3 project cost estimates in WBS format with documented assumptions.
• Perform modeling, forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI tracking.
• Maintain standard material and labor unit costs and update cost databases.
• Prepare for and facilitate estimate challenge meetings with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure accurate understanding of estimates.
• Prepare contractor estimate/bid analyses and lessons learned.
