Job summary
Sarasota County is seeking a Public Utilities Planning Manager II to lead the Utility Planning Team within the Utility Engineering Division. You will guide long-range planning for water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems, support capital programs, and supervise staff to ensure regulatory compliance and reliable service.
The role requires PE licensure in Florida, a relevant degree, and supervisory experience, with a competitive starting pay and extensive benefits.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or a highly related field.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of master plans for water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems.
- Direct technical studies, growth projections, and planning efforts to support utility capital programs.
- Oversee utility planning reviews for development projects for regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with state agencies and other stakeholders on utility planning initiatives.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop planning staff through coaching and training.
