City of Dade City (FL) is seeking an Utilities Director to lead the Water and Wastewater divisions, ensuring compliant, efficient operations and robust public health safeguards. The role requires strong project management, supervisory leadership, and strategic budgeting.

The position entails coordinating with city officials, preparing budgets, and overseeing capital projects while responding to emergencies and public needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of progressively responsible experience in public utilities, project management and operations.
• 3–5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Experience in maintenance, repair, and operation of water and wastewater systems.
• Experience in the public sector preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs the management and operation of the Water and Wastewater divisions.
• Oversees environmental reports and water quality compliance.
• Prepares permits and re-permitting for water and wastewater facilities.
• Develops and enforces operating policies and SOPs.
• Prepares agendas, attends meetings, and presents to City Commission.
