Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a qualified Utility Technician - Stationary Engineer to operate and maintain building utility systems at our West Point, PA site.

The role includes monitoring chillers, cooling towers, HP water systems, steam, and condensate, while adhering to cGMP standards and safety procedures. You will log daily activities, perform preventative maintenance, and support outages with proper lockout/tagout practices.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and State Stationary Engineer Seal or equivalent.
• Trade school or military training in industrial power plant and refrigeration equipment operations is required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor building utility systems including chillers, cooling towers, water treatment units, and steam systems.
• Maintain logs and documentation in a cGMP environment; complete work orders and shift reports.
• Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on utility equipment and control systems.
• Coordinate with supervision and other mechanics; ensure safe shutdowns and tie-ins per procedures.
• Respond to alarms and dispatch in a timely, professional manner.
