Job summary

Umicore in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager US to oversee export controls, sanctions, and customs compliance under the Regional Trade Compliance Manager North America. The role focuses on US-specific regulatory requirements and coordination with global EC&S teams, with a hybrid work structure (3 days in the office).

You will monitor US regulatory developments, apply them to Umicore’s US activities, and support license applications with local authorities as needed.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in trade compliance, including export controls, sanctions, and customs.
• Knowledge of US export control and sanctions regulations such as EAR and OFAC, with solid understanding of US customs requirements.
• Experience in a multinational corporate environment, ideally in industrial or technical sectors.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, International Trade, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Structured work approach with accuracy; clear and pragmatic communication; collaborative across teams.

Responsibilities

• Delivers expert work in Trade Compliance with high quality and timeliness.
• Owns complex tasks in trade compliance, regulatory compliance, producing outputs and identifying risks.
• Analyzes problems, recommends options, and implements improvements in methods and data flows.
• Collaborates with adjacent teams and stakeholders, communicating insights and recommendations clearly.
• Collaborates cross-functionally to deliver high-quality outcomes and knowledge sharing.
• Mentors less experienced colleagues, reviewing deliverables and elevating team standards.
• Support the Regional Trade Compliance Manager in implementing export controls, sanctions, and customs compliance in the US.
