Job summary

Bloomberg Intelligence US Consumer Discretionary Softlines Research Analyst in New York seeks an experienced professional to cover specialty apparel stores, off-price retailers and department stores. You will deliver timely equity research and contribute to themed analyses.

You will build and maintain financial models, interpret results, monitor corporate developments, and collaborate with Bloomberg Intelligence analysts globally to provide actionable insights.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of equity research experience, specializing in consumer, retail or related sectors.
• Experience interpreting financial statements, building financial models and performing quantitative financial analysis.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• CFA designation is preferred.
• Strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leverage knowledge of softlines retail sectors to analyze companies.
• Monitor and interpret major company developments and macro themes.
• Conduct deep thematic research on structural trends, competitive dynamics and changing consumer behavior.
• Build and maintain financial, operating and scenario models to assess company performance.
• Manage earnings cycle, including previews and reviews.
• Collaborate with global Bloomberg Intelligence analysts and strategists to coordinate analysis.
• Develop and maintain relationships with investors and senior management at target companies.
• Coordinate with Global Data teams to ensure data quality.
