Job summary

Scale is seeking an experienced US Payroll Specialist to oversee end-to-end multi-state payroll operations for US-based employees. You will ensure accurate, timely processing and strict compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.

You will collaborate with HR and Accounting, act as the system SME for Workday and ADP, and drive continuous improvement in payroll processes. A strong focus on data integrity and audits will be essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience.
• Experience with multi-state payroll.
• Knowledge of FLSA and tax regulations.
• Ability to collaborate with HR and Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle payroll processing for multiple states bi-weekly and semi-monthly.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Manage year-end activities including W-2s and reconciliations.
• Act as subject matter expert for Workday and ADP implementations and optimizations.
• Conduct payroll audits and drive continuous improvement using AI and other methods.
