Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking a senior Controller to lead the U.S. corporate accounting function in Newton, NJ, with periodic travel to other locations. The role manages GL analysis, inventory/COPs, and monthly financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance and tax filing accuracy.

You will partner with the Global Controller to strengthen internal controls, drive cost reductions, and oversee AP/AR, payroll, and disbursement activities across a multinational organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience with consolidations, eliminations, foreign subsidiaries, and management responsibilities.
• US GAAP knowledge is required and manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Experience in a global, multi-location business and strong ledger system expertise.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complete General Ledger analysis and set up new accounts as needed.
• Reconcile inventory accounts and COGS; pursue cost reductions.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and weekly numbers updates.
• Analyze domestic financial statements and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
• Assist in corporate income tax compliance and internal control development.
