Job summary

Smith & Nephew seeks a Compliance Director, AWM US, to drive the global compliance program for the US Advanced Wound Management unit. You will partner with senior leaders to establish risk-based action plans, training, and ongoing monitoring in a complex US healthcare environment.

The role requires 7–10 years in healthcare compliance, a strong legal background, and excellent communication skills. Expect up to 15% travel and a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of progressive healthcare compliance experience in a complex US healthcare business.
• Expertise in US healthcare laws and regulations (Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, industry codes).
• Legal background preferred with a law degree or substantial regulatory interpretation experience.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of time.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to draft clear reports and policies.
• Proven ability to lead change in a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Leads the implementation of the Global Compliance Program for the US AWM BU.
• Develops risk-based action plans, measures effectiveness, and monitors KPIs.
• Aligns market and BU-specific risks with global standards and best practices.
• Partners with business leaders to monitor compliance culture and training programs.
• Drives third-party risk management and site visits within the region.
• Represents Compliance in leadership meetings and drives corrective actions.
