Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Planner - Department Manager for our Washington DC office to lead civic and commercial markets in the mid-Atlantic. The role focuses on growing the planning presence, supervising projects, and aligning scope with schedule and budget while building key client relationships.

The position requires a Masters in Urban Planning, AICP certification, and 10+ years leading planning projects including business development; travel regionally is expected.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Urban Planning.
• AICP certification.
• 10+ years of planning project leadership experience.
• Experience with municipal clients at local, regional and Federal levels.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead and collaborate across a multi-disciplinary team.
• Willingness to travel regionally and to surrounding states.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement a strategy to grow the Buildings footprint in the mid-Atlantic.
• Oversee planning and multi-discipline projects with quality control/assurance.
• Lead business development efforts and foster client relationships.
• Manage regional staff, timesheets, performance evaluations and supervision.
• Coordinate scope, schedule, quality and budget for projects.
• Provide monthly updates on project and business development activity.
