Job summary

AECOM’s Urbanism + Planning team is seeking a creative and experienced urban design manager to lead large-scale urban design and master planning projects across the East Coast, with a focus on TOD, mixed-use development, placemaking, downtown revitalization, and public realm design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban design, planning, architecture, or landscape architecture with 8+ years of experience.
• Master’s degree preferred with 10+ years of experience.
• Proven leadership and project management on multidisciplinary urban design projects.
• Strong graphic and presentation skills in 2D/3D with design software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multidisciplinary urban design projects from concept through implementation, including master plans and public realm strategies.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, work plans, and deliverables across multiple projects and teams.
• Set design direction and ensure quality and consistency across project delivery.
• Mentor urban design staff and address coordination challenges.
• Provide design leadership for TOD, mixed-use, downtown revitalization and public realm projects.
• Prepare design drawings, diagrams, renderings, and documentation to communicate concepts.
