Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Planner - Department Manager for our Washington DC office to grow and lead civic and commercial markets in the mid-Atlantic region.

The role involves managing projects, supervising staff, and coordinating scope, schedule, quality, and budgets while driving business development and client relationships. Candidates should have a Master’s in Urban Planning and AICP, with 10+ years of leadership experience.

Qualifications

  • Masters in Urban Planning or equivalent.
  • AICP certification is preferred.
  • 10+ years of leading planning projects with at least 4 years in business development.
  • Experience with municipal clients – local, regional and Federal - required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to lead within a larger team to drive results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement strategy to grow CED’s Buildings footprint in the mid-Atlantic region.
  • Oversee planning and multi-discipline projects with quality control/assurance.
  • Guide business development efforts across the region in collaboration with leadership.
  • Maintain and grow external client relationships and oversee regional staff growth.
