Job summary

This role supervises professional planners and oversees development reviews from concept to construction, coordinating with city officials and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree; five+ years of urban planning experience.
• Experience managing large-scale urban development projects.
• Ability to present to municipal leaders, commissions and community groups.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the workflow of the assigned team.
• Guide staff in review of public/private development projects and policy initiatives.
• Implement and support development team with One Start to streamline development review.
• Support CIP implementation across departments.
• Review and edit detailed staff reports for development projects.
• Lead interdepartmental development review of complex cases.
• Monitor staff in contract management for special projects and deliverables.
• Review and edit graphics for presentations and printed materials.
• Present to Planning Commission, City Council and other bodies.
• Provide presentations to senior management within P&Z and city leadership.
