Job summary

Colliers International in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead commercial construction and tenant improvements from concept through closeout. You will manage budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams, delivering projects on time and within budget.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, strong communication with clients and design teams, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects concurrently. On-site base out of our DC office with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction or related field required and 8–10+ years of experience in commercial real estate.
• Strong knowledge of design, construction, project management, and building systems.
• Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience leading multiple projects and coordinating diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple commercial construction and tenant improvement projects from planning through completion.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
• Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and overall project plans.
• Lead architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, vendors, and other project team members.
• Coordinate bidding, RFPs, contractor selection, permitting, construction, and closeout.
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, change orders, invoices, and payment applications.
• Conduct project and construction meetings and maintain clear project documentation.
• Monitor project progress, costs, schedule, quality, and risks; identify and resolve issues before they impact the project.
• Provide regular project status updates, including budget, schedule, risks, and key milestones.
• Conduct site visits and oversee construction activities to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
