Job summary

Stantec in Minneapolis, MN is seeking an experienced design engineer to join the North Central & Twin Cities Metro Urban Mobility team. You will lead and deliver roadway design projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary group to improve transportation for communities in Minnesota and beyond.

You will coordinate with Transportation and Community Development teams, use MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D, and contribute to client relationships while delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in roadway design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Minnesota.
• Experience in urban roadway design including roundabouts, ADA, bikeways, and utility coordination.
• Ability to lead design teams and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of roadway design projects for cities, counties, and state DOTs.
• Collaborate with local offices and Stantec teams to access expertise and secure support.
• Develop responsive solutions by staying current with market trends and client concerns.
• Support a collaborative team culture to drive great results.
• Prepare design concepts, layouts, and final design construction plan sets.
• Perform CADD design using MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Prepare transportation reports, cost estimates, and specifications.
• Supervise and mentor design technicians and EITs.
