Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking an experienced design engineer to lead and mentor our Urban Mobility team in Minnesota.

You will guide design projects across urban corridors, roundabouts, bikeways, and related transportation features, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary network of professionals. You will collaborate with clients, review designs for quality, and help grow our Minnesota and neighboring-state project portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in roadway design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Minnesota.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design projects for cities, counties, and state DOTs.
• Collaborate with local offices and Stantec teams for support and expertise.
• Stay updated on market trends and client concerns to develop responsive solutions.
• Support a collaborative team culture to achieve great results.
• Prepare design concepts, layout plans, and final construction documents.
• Perform CADD design of roadways using State DOT, County, and local practices.
• Utilize MicroStation/OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D for roadway design and 3D models.
• Prepare transportation-related reports and cost estimates.
• Review shop drawings and submittals; respond to RFIs; prepare site observation reports.
• Supervise and mentor design technicians and EITs; develop staff capabilities.
• Engage with clients to build relationships and pursue new opportunities.
