Join our new state-of-the-art lab at The University of Delaware, a perfect time to be part of Waters Immerse Delaware, located at the Science, Technology, and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus. This lab focuses on uncovering new trends and opportunities in next-generation bioprocess solutions, utilizing the latest technology in small- and large-scale bioreactors and analytical instruments. The project involves collaborations with NIIMBL, universities, and industry partners worldwide. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of biologists, analytical chemists, data scientists, and bioprocess engineers.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct research and develop technology for analytical characterization of manufacturing processes for biologics and novel modalities.
  2. Perform cell culture and aseptic techniques for developing and processing research-grade cellular products.
  3. Operate automated small-scale bioreactors and bench-top reactors.
  4. Maintain lab equipment, manage vendor relationships, and keep detailed records.
  5. Collaborate with project workstreams to develop schedules and milestones.
  6. Work with end users to develop user requirements, support prototype technology, and provide proof of concept experiments.
  7. Assist and train junior scientists on lab operations, procedures, and processes.
  8. Foster collaborations with academic and industry partners on technology development.
Qualifications
  1. Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with bioreactors in biopharmaceutical, biotech, or CDMO industries. Master’s degree holders with 6+ years of experience are encouraged to apply. Exceptional candidates with relevant Bachelor’s degrees and experience will also be considered.
  3. Strong background in cell biology, cell culture, and sterile techniques.
  4. Hands-on experience with bioreactor systems, cell culture, and PAT. Experience with mammalian cell lines and Ambr bioreactors is a plus.
  5. Motivated with a proven ability to work on research projects.
  6. Excellent communication skills and experience building collaborative relationships.
  7. Ability to thrive in a diverse, innovative environment.
