Join our new state-of-the-art lab at The University of Delaware's STAR Campus, where we explore next-generation bioprocess solutions with access to advanced bioreactors and analytical instruments, collaborating globally with NIIMBL, universities, and industry partners. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team including biologists, chemists, data scientists, and engineers.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct research and develop analytical characterization methods for biologics and novel modalities manufacturing processes.
  2. Perform cell culture and aseptic techniques for research-grade cellular products.
  3. Operate automated small-scale and bench-top bioreactors.
  4. Maintain lab equipment and manage vendor relationships.
  5. Collaborate with project teams to develop schedules and milestones.
  6. Work with end users to define equipment requirements, support prototype technology, and provide proof-of-concept evaluations.
  7. Train junior scientists and support daily lab operations.
  8. Foster collaborations with academic and industry partners to explore new technologies.
Qualifications
  1. Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field.
  2. At least 2 years of hands-on experience with bioreactors in biopharmaceutical process development; Master's degree holders with 6+ years of industry experience are encouraged to apply. Exceptional candidates with relevant Bachelor's degrees and experience will also be considered.
  3. Strong background in cell biology, cell culture, and sterile techniques.
  4. Experience with bioreactor systems, cell culture, PAT, and high-throughput bioreactors like Ambr is a plus.
  5. Motivated with proven research project experience.
  6. Good judgment, initiative, creativity, problem-solving skills, and decision-making ability.
  7. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
  8. Ability to thrive in a diverse, innovative environment.
