Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician for the Critical Power Group in California. You will travel daily to customer sites, perform maintenance, install and repair static switch and PDU systems, and provide technical support as needed.

The role requires a 5+ year track record with UPS systems and related electrical apparatus, a related degree, and strong communication skills; on-call work and travel are expected.

Qualifications

• AA/BS degree in Electrical and/or Electronics from an accredited college or university, or equivalent training.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematic diagrams.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Daily travel with independent work structure.
• Emergency call availability 24/7 unless on PTO or Off Call.
• Maintain safeguard company issued equipment, tools, and instruments.
• Installation and repair of static switch and PDU systems.
• Perform required preventative maintenance service to equipment under contract as scheduled.
• Coordinate and manage on-site subcontractors as necessary.
• Complete all paperwork, including Field Service Reports and Time Sheets, timely and accurately.
• Provide technical support to customers upon request.
