Job summary

SAS is seeking a Sr. Unreal Engine Developer to shape photoreal digital twins and real-time simulations. This senior role offers latitude to influence architecture, pipelines, and tooling across an enterprise analytics platform.

You will mentor peers, collaborate across engineering and analytics, and contribute to secure, scalable real-time 3D solutions while working remotely in the US or hybrid in Cary, NC.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience with Unreal Engine
• Expert proficiency in Blueprints and C++
• Production experience with Unreal Engine server/client architecture and network replication
• Experience integrating external data sources or APIs into real-time applications
• Portfolio of shipped real-time 3D or simulation projects

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of photorealistic digital twin environments in Unreal Engine 5 for enterprise analytics
• Collaborate with optimization, IoT and software architects to connect visualizations to real-time telemetry and ML outputs
• Develop and optimize custom Blueprints and C++ modules for advanced simulation logic and interactive experiences
• Evaluate, integrate and extend Unreal Engine plugins including SAS Connector
• Drive best practices in Unreal Engine pipeline management, version control and cloud integration
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to long-term technical strategy for digital twins
• Encourage participation in open-source projects and ensure security policies are followed
