Job summary

SAS is seeking an Unreal Engine Developer to work on real-time 3D digital twin projects and analytics-driven simulations. You will ship features in Unreal Engine 5, linking visualization with real-time telemetry and machine learning outputs.

Collaboration with IoT engineers, software architects and analytics teams is essential, with opportunities to contribute to open-source projects for SAS. Remote work is available in the US, with hybrid options in Cary, NC, and a strong emphasis on secure,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years’ experience building interactive 3D apps with Unreal Engine, Blueprints and C++.
Experience delivering real-time 3D or simulation projects to release.
Experience integrating external data into real-time apps (JSON, REST, WebSocket, MQTT).
Team-based pipeline experience with version control (Perforce/Plastic SCM/Git).

Responsibilities

Build and extend photorealistic digital twin environments in Unreal Engine 5 with real-time simulation and visualization.
Connect Unreal visualizations to real-time telemetry, sensor inputs and ML outputs.
Develop and optimize Blueprints and C++ modules for simulation logic, physics and UI.
Integrate and extend Unreal Engine plugins, including SAS Connector and third‑party plugins.
Profile and resolve performance issues using Unreal Insights and profiling tools.
