SAS is seeking a Sr. Unreal Engine Developer to lead photoreal digital twin environments, integrating real-time telemetry and ML outputs. You will guide Blueprint and C++ development, collaborate across teams, and shape enterprise-grade simulation pipelines.

The role offers remote work within the US or hybrid arrangement in Cary, NC, with opportunities to influence standards and contribute to open-source projects. A strong background in Unreal Engine and production experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of professional experience with Unreal Engine in interactive 3D applications.
• Production experience with Unreal Engine server/client architecture and network replication.
• Experience integrating external data sources/APIs (JSON, REST, WebSocket, MQTT) into real-time apps.
• Portfolio of shipped real-time 3D or simulation projects showing photoreal rendering or complex interactions.

Responsabilités

• Lead design and development of photoreal digital twin environments in Unreal Engine 5.
• Collaborate with IoT, optimization, and software architects to connect visualizations to real-time telemetry and ML outputs.
• Develop and optimize Blueprint and C++ modules for simulation logic and user interaction.
• Extend Unreal Engine plugins including SAS Connector and third-party plugins.
• Drive best practices in Unreal Engine pipeline management, version control, and cloud integrations.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to long-term technical strategy for digital twins.
• Participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
