Job summary

Kratos Unmanned Aerial Systems (KUAS) seeks a Principal Project Engineer to provide technical authority and lead cross-discipline teams on complex unmanned systems programs from definition through production. You will align business objectives with engineering execution, manage resources, and serve as the main technical interface with customers and stakeholders.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering, 15+ years in engineering, and 5+ years as a lead; U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering, technical, or science discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of engineering, systems, or project leadership experience.
• 5+ years as project or technical lead.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Preferred: Master’s degree; MBA desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead program planning strategies, cost estimates, risk management, and reviews.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, systems, and software.
• Serve as technical lead or design authority for products and enhancements.
• Support business development as lead technical contact for proposals.
• Mentor project engineers and enforce engineering design processes.
• Report progress to meet customer requirements; ensure schedule and budget.
• Foster collaboration and ensure compliance with ISO/EVMS/export rules.
