Job summary

Kratos Unmanned Aerial Systems (KUAS) seeks a Project Engineer to support the development and maintenance of the technical plan from kick-off through contract closure. You will track technical scope, cost, and schedule while coordinating cross-functional engineering teams at KUAS.

Working with the design authority, you will prepare estimates, manage risks, and ensure deliverables meet contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• Basic project management skills including resource estimates for engineering effort requirements (hours) and timing (schedule).
• Working knowledge with MS Office products, including MS Project for schedule development and review.
• Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing tasks and resources for a single project.
• Basic understanding and experience with engineering fundamentals and best practices.
• Basic presentation preparation and delivery skills with audiences such as subcontractors, customers, and government.
• Good communication and relationship skills with program leadership, engineering leadership, customers, and engineering team members.
• Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
• Flexibility to handle changing requirements and prioritize in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop program planning strategies, cost estimates, risk management, logistics management, and data for reviews.
• Assess customer requirements, plan technical solutions and integrate into the project plan.
• Prepare estimates to complete, review schedules, coordinate with IPT leads and PMO.
• Coordinate design documentation release to support requirements compliance.
• Monitor and report technical status, task accomplishments, and direction from design authority.
• Escalate issues and coordinate with program leadership for resolutions.
• Gathers and maintains status of technical scope and execution of major components.
• Interface with peers, design authorities, IPTLs, and functional management.
