Job summary

Kratos Unmanned Aerial Systems (KUAS) seeks engineers to advance unmanned aircraft development, from aerodynamic design to flight testing of tactical air systems and target drones. You will help craft control laws and flight-control software for next-generation systems deployed to diverse customers.

The role demands strong background in aircraft dynamics, guidance and control, and proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, and embedded software. Onsite work with some travel is required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering (aerospace preferred) with 6+ years related experience.
• MS degree preferred with 11+ years related experience for senior level.
• Experience leading engineer tasks in aerospace programs.

Responsibilities

• Aircraft dynamics, subsystem modeling and simulation.
• Control system gain design, stability margins.
• Flight dynamics evaluation and flying qualities testing.
• Non-linear control system robustness testing.
• Design and implement operator interfaces and autonomous logic.
• Guidance algorithm development and testing.
• Navigation system design, analysis, testing.
• Prepare engineering documentation and design review material.
• Travel to support flight test activities.
