Job summary

Equinix, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to build and operate a scalable unified network model for Equinix Brain. You will design, develop, test, and deploy reliable services modeling global network entities, enabling autonomous operations and enhanced capacity planning.

The role emphasizes leading architectural decisions, collaborating across teams, and contributing to 24x7 on-call support. Strong Golang, cloud, and observability skills are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing distributed, scalable, highly available software services using Golang.
• Background of working for SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, or cloud-based companies with prior experience designing microservices at scale.
• Experience with building software as a service and running 24x7 on-call rotations.
• Proficient in data management systems and technologies: GCP Spanner, MongoDB, Redis, Neo4J.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with network management protocols: gRPC, Netconf.
• Strong networking concepts knowledge: ISIS, BGP, BMP, LLDP.
• Experience building and operating reliable distributed systems.
• Proficient in CI/CD: Github Actions, ArgoCD.
• Experience with public cloud services: AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Hands-on exposure to observability: Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos.
• Experience with agile practices: JIRA, Git, CI/CD.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in design, development, testing, and operation of reliable services modeling Equinix's network entities.
• Provide technical guidance and identify network data and use cases to enrich the unified network model.
• Develop solutions using the unified model to gain insights, support operations, and inform capacity planning.
• Facilitate cross-stakeholder alignment on requirements and trade-offs for performance and reliability.
• Ensure smooth integration of the unified model into Equinix Brain and NaaS initiatives.
• Lead by example, establishing development and operational best practices.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
