Job summary

Equinix is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Engineer to build and operate a scalable unified network model that underpins our global data-center network and NaaS initiatives. You will lead design, development, and operation of services modeling network entities and their relationships.

Join a team focused on automation, telemetry, and observability to enable autonomous network management and the Equinix Brain program, driving reliable, high-performance infrastructure for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building distributed, scalable software services in SaaS/PaaS/IaaS environments.
• Experience designing microservices and systems at scale with production readiness.
• Experience with 24x7 on-call rotations and SaaS operations.
• Strong data management with databases and caches: Redis, MongoDB, Neo4j.
• Proficient with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with gRPC, Netconf, and networking protocols.
• CI/CD experience: Github Actions, ArgoCD.
• Public cloud experience: AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Observability stack: Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Model network entities and relationships for Equinix’s global network.
• Guide data use cases to enrich the unified network model.
• Build insights from the model to improve product capabilities and operations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on software requirements and design trade-offs.
• Integrate unified network model with Equinix Brain and NaaS initiatives.
• Establish development and operational best practices across teams.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
