Job summary

Equinix, the world’s digital infrastructure company, seeks a Senior Staff Engineer to design and operate a scalable unified network model for Equinix Brain and NaaS initiatives. You will lead architecture, mentor teams, and drive reliability across distributed services in a cloud-first environment.

You’ll work across on-call rotations, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and help shape data-driven decisions that improve margins and customer experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing distributed, scalable software services using Golang.
• Experience designing microservices at scale with production readiness for SaaS/PaaS/IaaS.
• Experience with 24x7 on-call rotations for services.
• Proficiency with data stores: GCP Spanner, MongoDB, Redis, Neo4J.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Network management protocols: gRPC, Netconf.
• Strong networking concepts: ISIS, BGP, BMP, LLDP.
• Experience with CI/CD: Github Actions, ArgoCD.
• Public cloud experience: AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Observability stack: Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos.
• Agile practices: JIRA, Git, CI/CD.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and operate reliable services to model network entities and relationships.
• Provide guidance and identify network data/use cases for the unified model to solve critical problems.
• Develop data-driven insights to enhance product capabilities and operations.
• Facilitate cross-stakeholder discussions on requirements and trade-offs.
• Ensure integration of the unified network model into Equinix Brain and NaaS initiatives.
• Lead by example and establish development and operational best practices.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
