Job summary

Abacus Technology Corporation is seeking a Unified Communications Engineer to provide expert support for voice and UC systems at Hanscom AFB. You will join a team designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise telephony per AF standards, ensuring availability and security across the voice infrastructure.

Responsibilities include planning voice environments, configuring Avaya Aura components, SBCs, SIP/H.323, and reviewing capacity and performance metrics.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; additional years may substitute for degree.
Security+ certification is required.
Hands-on experience with Avaya Aura and SBCs.
Strong knowledge of SIP, H.323, and voice networks.
Ability to work in a team and manage projects.

Responsibilities

Design, install, configure, and troubleshoot voice infrastructure and provide customer support for voice related services.
Install, upgrade, operate, maintain, and configure equipment/firmware/software to ensure voice service availability per AF standards.
Work with vendors to evaluate hardware/software and make recommendations per customer needs.
Collaborate with Voice Responsible Officers and planning meetings; review voice line counts and create cut sheets for capacity planning.
