Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Unified Communications Engineer in Virginia to design, implement, and maintain enterprise UC solutions, including VoIP, video, and collaboration platforms. You will monitor performance, enforce security, and integrate with AD and cloud services.

The role requires 8+ years in telecom with Cisco UC, a TS/SCI-eligible clearance, and willingness to travel. Strong problem-solving and documentation skills are essential in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or ability to obtain SCI.
• 8+ years of telecom experience installing and upgrading Cisco UC appliances.
• Knowledge of Cisco UC Manager, IM&P, Expressway, VTC, and SBC.
• Expertise in Cisco SIP signaling and call flow.
• Strong understanding of network fundamentals (firewalls, ACLs, 802.1x).
• Experience with ESXi virtualization.
• Familiarity with DoD STIGs and security standards.
• Ability to deploy and manage server-based and router-based dial plans.
• Willingness to travel 5–10% within 75 miles; MS Office tools proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement UC solutions with focus on scalability and security.
• Install and set up UC systems including VoIP, video, and collaboration tools.
• Monitor performance and apply maintenance and security patches.
• Integrate UC with AD, cloud services, and network infra.
• Provide end-user support and training as needed.
• Create and update system documentation and best practices.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software and manage relationships.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans.
