Job summary

Zurich North America in Chicago or New York is seeking an experienced Senior UA Manager to lead training and development for Underwriting Associates across Financial Institutions and Public D&O teams. The role is based in the US with a hybrid schedule and opportunities to work from home.

You will coach and develop UA teams, drive performance, optimize underwriting processes, and partner with producers on new business and renewals while managing staff in a growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years in Insurance/Underwriting or equivalent.
• High School Diploma with 8+ years in Insurance/Underwriting or equivalent.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice pathway with relevant experience.
• Knowledge of insurance industry and regulatory environment.
• Ability to research, compile, analyze, and synthesize data and metrics.
• Experience in production and metrics-driven environment.
• Experience preparing and managing operational budgets.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• People management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Underwriting Associates across territory.
• Ensure teams meet operational performance goals.
• Assess underwriting processes and implement standards and controls.
• Communicate with producers about status of new business and renewals.
• Handle customer service and account management tasks as needed.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and development plans.
• Build relationships and lead team huddles.
