Job summary

Constructive Loans, LLC is seeking a senior Underwriting Manager to lead a team responsible for transitioning construction or rehabilitation loans to permanent financing. You will optimize workflow, align with SLAs, and drive collaboration across internal teams to support business objectives.

You will develop policies, advance systems, and manage complex loan scenarios, ensuring underwriting decisions align with risk management and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or related field (or equivalent).
• 7+ years in residential and commercial lending with RTL/DSCR underwriting exposure.
• 3+ years' experience managing people and leading teams.
• Understanding of mortgage underwriting processes and regulatory requirements.
• Proficient with loan origination systems, preferably Encompass.
• Strong MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Professional certifications related to mortgage underwriting or financial analysis.
• Experience managing transitional construction-to-permanent loans.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Underwriting professionals to ensure efficient loan approvals; mentor staff.
• Oversee dynamic loan pipeline, reallocate resources, provide data-driven recommendations.
• Underwrite complex residential and commercial loans per regulations.
• Review loans exceeding authority limits and ensure compliance.
• Audit knowledge base and develop underwriting strategies.
• Implement underwriting policies aligning with regulations and risk management.
• Regularly review guidelines based on market conditions and performance.
• Audit loan quality and ensure adherence to requirements.
• Ensure underwriting minimizes risk and maximizes profitability.
• Collaborate with department managers for cohesive customer service and risk management.
