Job summary

PMA is seeking an experienced Referral Underwriter to develop and oversee multiple lines of coverage, including work comp, general liability, commercial auto, property, and umbrella. You will collaborate on risk selection, pricing strategy, and underwriting guidelines while handling referrals beyond regional authority.

You will lead pricing and loss forecasting initiatives, coordinate facultative reinsurance, and support product development with a strong emphasis on QA and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 7 to 10 years of multi line underwriting with an insurance carrier, large account, loss sensitive portfolio experience preferred.
• Knowledge of casualty coverage and loss sensitive deal structures (retrospective rating, large deductible).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with management levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee PMA's lines of coverage (WC, GL, CA, Property, Umbrella).
• Oversee referrals outside Regional Underwriting Manager authority.
• Manage facultative reinsurance placements and ensure proper documentation.
• Monitor renewal activity and coordinate mid-term corrective actions.
• Provide training and support to QA processes and product development.
• Travel to client and agency interactions to develop new business.
