Brown & Brown, Inc is seeking a Director of Underwriting to join our growing team in the United States. The role focuses on underwriting contract surety bonds, managing bid requests, and reviewing submissions for policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Underwrite contract surety bonds - assessing risk acceptability.
• Manage daily bid and final bond requests, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Review new contract bond/account submissions for completeness and compliance with our policies.
• Oversee the fiscal status of accounts, including in-depth analysis of annual accounting audits and internal financial statements.
• Build and enhance agency relationships — schedule regular meetings with established surety companies, visit accounts, and actively identify and secure new surety partnerships.
• Drive premium production growth by leveraging strong market knowledge and a proactive, client-focused approach.
• As Director this person oversees/managed internal underwriters along with training/development of these employees.
